Now Sully is nearly three and he would use a binkie all day, everyday if we let him. We don't and he doesn't but he certainly would if it was allowed. We were on a really good streak of only allowing them during bedtime and in the car. Not sure what happened to that rule.
So last night I decided; let's just do away with all the binkies. Sela is old enough, might as well just do one fell swoop. In the cupboard they all went. About 2.5 minutes later Sela said, "I want, mink!" I've so got this. "Sorry honey, all the binks went bye bye, no more binks, do you want some milk?" She began screaming, "I want mink!" over and over, then climbed up to the top of the chair and said, "I jump!" Now, I'm sure this was just a coincidence and my daughter wasn't actually going to throw herself off the highest point she could climb to at the thought of losing her binkie. But I'm just saying, I didn't realize she was that attached.
Cold turkey isn't my style anyway, I guess we will just have to ease into it.
