Lila Aleshia

I wrote you this letter when you were about a week old and you are seven a half months old in the picture below.  Life has been crazy but we couldn't love you more schmibs!

In a word, you are perfection.  You are sweet and squishy. You have taken it easy on your old man and me.  Except for a dash (ok, more like a spoon full) of day-night reversal, you are rivaling the reputation of your older brother, aka, best/easiest baby ever.  You nurse, we lock eyes, play and have tummy time for about an hour and then you want to be swaddled to take a nap.  Repeat throughout the day until night fall at which point you would like to nurse, lock eyes, be held and just hang out...until morning.  This has given you and your dear old Dad a lot of quality time due to the insane monster of a person your Mother turns into when she hasn't slept.  Your Dad and I have now finished all seasons of the Wire, Downton Abbey, Homeland, Call the Midwife and dozen more movies sprinkled in.  So, if when you are older you mysteriously understand terms like 'pandemic', 'yellow tops', any top secret government terminology or turn of the century etiquette then we will know that you could actually hear the tv despite the low volume and your sound machine.  All of it purely educational, so I am sure you will be all the better for it.
Sullivan and Sela are smitten with you.  Sullivan shows you his cars, drives them on you, loves to touch your nose (which he always tells me is so cute) and insists on holding you, throughout the entire day.  Sela's infatuation is at a level all its own.  She would just take over as Mama at this point if we would let her (some days I consider it).  She wants to hold you, rock you in your car seat, swing, baby chair, anything she can get her hands on.  She has a new infatuation with nursing.  Not a digression into wanting to be nursed again.  Oh no, she wants to know when she will get her own 'boo-boos' so that she too can nurse the baby.
You have folded into our family so beautifully and so effortlessly.  Its as though you have always been there.  I suppose you always have since I have dreamt about you all of my life.  We love you little one.

Lila with Grandma Margaret.  And yes, that is a bike training wheel you are playing with.
