Happy 4th of July!

Strike a pose!

My sweet Miles, how I love him so.
Aleshia wasn't about to let a root canal ruin her holiday.  What a trooper!

Sullivan still sneaks away on a daily basis to have some reading time.  Whenever I hear the unnatural sound of silence in our house I yell "Sullivan say 'what'!", a faint, "What Mama" will descend from a far corner of the house where I will inevitably find him sitting in a pile of books (usually with a binky that he smuggled out of his bed).  There was a lot of commotion this weekend but he was able to squeeze in a quick read, even with everyone playing around him.
A stolen binky from Sela, a wrench, shoes on the wrong feet, riding on Uncle D's back with Jillibean.  Sullivan was in heaven.

Sullivan is completely infatuated with fishing.  He tells Brian, "Daddy, I need go hiffing."  He has a unique style, all his own of course, which includes casting and then putting the pole into the water where he can place the bait and hook more accurately near the fish under the dock.

It's all about the bait selection.

Papa Phil and the girls!

Sela wasn't so sure about her first lip gloss experience, insisted upon by Auntie Kristen.  I think we probably need to wait a few more years.

Grandma Honey and Brian challenged each other to a ceviche cook off.  Brian was armed with Grandpa Jim's famous recipe.  Sullivan and Miles helped Grandma prepare her fish while I acted as sous chef to Brian.  We took a cupcake break after all of our hard work and then it was time for the taste test and results.

After much consideration and careful voting Brian was victorious!
