Christmas

Oh Christmas, how I love you. You bring the people I love together and create a sense of wonder in our children that is truly priceless. It has been brought to my attention time and time again how lucky we are to have the family that we have. We are lucky, and we know it. Not one of us takes it for granted.

Pretty sure we spotted a couple in the yard.

Miles took the kids through the ropes of leaving milk and cookies for Santa. It required a quick tutorial.

The kiddos wanted to have a slumber party. They laid right down and fell asleep without a peep.

Ha, yeah right!

Christmas morning was great. Sullivan has a full blown obsession with the movie Cars and all the paraphernalia that Disney could dream up (and trust me there is a lot of it!) I always wondered who the parents were that bought their children the commercial themed toys and clothes. I would never do that, not my style. Well, one look at his sweet little face lighting up at the site of anything Lighting McQueen, and I was high-tailing it to the store to find more. He now has nearly all of the action figures, a suitcase, pajamas, sippy cups, lunch pails, etc. etc. Never say never! It was a Cars themed Christmas at the Sandusky household.

We took the kiddos to the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery Secret Santa fundraiser again this year. A volunteer helps them choose gifts for their loved ones as well as helps them wrap and label each of them. Sullivan was very reluctant to go back this year and then an hour and a half later they came out and told us that he wouldn't leave and that he was just playing with cars. Sounds about right! Poor Alex the elf had tried everything. When I peeked my head into the store, there he was with about fifteen cars lined up in the middle of the store. We figured he picked out cars for everyone as gifts but it turns out he still chose very special gifts for each of us. Both of the Grandmas received beautiful flower hair clips and I got a mood ring.
