DIY ~ Card Holder

One of my favorite DIY projects Brian and I have made together (together meaning, I saw a similar one at Pottery Barn for $150 and he said he would make it for me) was this card/calendar/project holder. It hangs in our kitchen and displays all of the cards, photos, invitations and announcements that we treasure so much.

Brian was able to make this little beauty with a pre-made frame from Hobby Lobby for $14, some thick wire and a staple gun. He simply measured out the wire, snipped four strands that were each about two inches longer than the frame's width, stapled down the wire to the backside of the frame and then twisted the wire around itself a couple of times to reinforce it. We bought some little metal clips to fasten the pictures to the wire at Hobby Lobby as well. Although, I also love the look of clothes pins as fasteners. This project cost less than $25 to make and took under an hour once he had all of the materials.
