Happy 5th birthday my sweet boy. In a word you are kind. You are also brave and thoughtful, funny and incredibly smart. I find myself staring at you in awe most days. You are this undeniably handsome, sweet boy, who made me a Mama, and you continue to teach me so much about what is important in life. You and I are different, but we are also very much the same. You love rules and schedules, and I have always been one to sort of wing it through life. But you have taught me the beauty in planning, following through and doing things the right way. You adore your Father, and I am not sure there is a limit to your ability to wrestle, play super heroes and ride bikes together. The two of you are best friends and it absolutely melts my heart. You are destined for great things my love. Your dedication and enthusiasm for life is truly unmatched. When you set your mind to something, you are determined to master it. Your fortitude will take you far.
You are so incredibly kind to your sisters. You include them, you protect them, you make them feel loved. I promise you, they will always remember that. I know I will. You are also the toughest little boy I have ever met. You might cry if your feelings are hurt, but let me tell you, when you fall off your bike into a pile of rocks, or fall when climbing a pile of logs, you jump up brush it off and keep on going.
