Baby Rooms

Decorating our kid's rooms was a drawn out process resulting in a combination of indecisiveness, lack of time and lack of energy.  Brian and I attempted to muster some motivation by challenging each other to a competition.  A competition to see who could create the best baby room on a $200 budget.  Brian had Sullivan's room and I had Sela's.  They both turned out pretty darn cute, but I think the prize goes to Brian for his attention to detail.  Not surprisingly, we both went with an old school feel and shied away from themes or anything to contrived.  I think we were both attempting to recreate the feel of our own childhood rooms.  Old tattered flags, piles of books, photos of loved ones and old cowboy paintings.

The rooms have been decorated for some time now but we are going to switch the rooms this weekend so that the queen bed in Sela's room will now be Sullivan's big boy bed and therefore, more readily available for guests when needed.  I wanted to be sure to document their first rooms before we make the big switch.

The kids found this photo opp entertaining to no end.  I had no idea just how much comfort and entertainment they would find in each other.  They are their very happiest when they are together.  So much fun to watch their relationship grow.  Sullivan calls Sela 'baby'.  We do the same but now we are trying to make an effort to call her Sela since we are pretty sure she and Sullivan both think her actual name is 'Baby'.
