Two Year Love Letter

Dear Sela,

My sweet little girl. My love. Happy 2nd birthday. You are my sidekick, you can always make me laugh, I love how much you need me and I need you just as much. You are sweet and shy but bold and vivacious at the same time. You are tall, my goodness are you tall. You also have the biggest 'little' feet I have ever seen on a two year old and you get so mad when you outgrow your shoes and you can't get them to go on. You can thank your Dad for his size 13 feet (I am sure my size 9.5 have nothing to do with it). You are unwaveringly understanding with Sullivan and his three year old OCD that is currently in full force. If he thinks his life is ending because you got the scary bear plate for lunch, you always trade him. Always. And your compassion and your ability to go with the flow always floors me. You have a kind heart my love. You take care of your baby dolls like they are your own and their little lives depend on it. You wrap them, rock them, kiss and hug them, put them to bed and offer them your binkies. You are also one tough cookie. You can hold your own in any wrestling match with your brother and just last Friday a little boy said something to you at the baseball game and you poked him in the chest and told him 'no' until he walked away (I didn't hear what he said so I am really hoping you were in the right). You and I have an undeniably special connection but it is also very obvious that you are a Daddy's girl. You look alike, you act alike and you are both just so darn happy when you are together. Your father and I are so proud of you. You are truly more than we ever could have hoped for. You have exceeded our expectations of what having a daughter would be and how much love we knew was even possible. Happy birthday sweet one, I love you so.

xoxo,

Your Mama
